Beverly Lopez is a dancer, choreographer and educator. She is the founding Artistic Director of REDi Dance Company. Beverly earned a BFA in Multi-Media/Performing Arts at Herbert H. Lehman College. She is the founder of the REDi Dance Junior Company, a preprofessional teen ensemble, and the Dance Bridge Workshop, a 5-day summer dance intensive for Bronx teens. Beverly continues to build her company with an urgency to form healing connections. She currently works as a teaching artist at the DreamYard Project.
Beverly most recently presented dance films as a member of the arts collective Dancing La Botanica: La Tierra Vive, a platform supported by Pepatian Bronx. She has presented work at New York City festivals, including WAXworks, Triskelion Arts’ Comedy and Dance Festival, Collective Thread, and BAAD! ASS Women Festival. Most recent performances as a dancer include “Mo Nife Re” by Beatrice Capote, I Am Pulse by Sekou Mcmiller at Hostos, Move to Change at Oberia Dempsey Theatre, Collective Thread at Dixon Place, Land of Concrete at the Hudson Guild Theatre, Monopoly: The Land Lord’s Game at Mark Morris Dance Center, Harlem Voices at the Harlem school of the Arts, and Bountiful by Luis Salgado at Manhattan Movement & Arts Center.
In 2018 Beverly choreographed the production of Electricidad, by Luis Alfaro, at Lehman College under the direction of Claudia Acosta. In the past she worked as the Dance Education Associate at the AATT Academy at BAAD!, and as the Program Manager for Daniel Fetecua Production's youth program at iD Studio Theatre.
